Tim, “12 year shadows”: i recently found these slides in a basement box of various stuff; they were taken 12 years ago for my high school photography class final project; we had to shoot/design a slide-show based on a theme; mine was “shadows”. i took the slides and, liked a few of them; didn’t want to do the same AGFA lightbox technique i’d used for my “Edies”, so i decided to hold them up to a ceiling lightbulb in my room; sometimes framed the slide in the hot spot, other times let the hot spot bleed through my hand to create that weird glowing skin…and that just felt like the simplest, most direct way to tell it: a view of viewing myself holding old shadows up to a new light…
